Miramichi City Council has passed its 2023 budget, which will see no increase to the residential tax rate.
After holding four public meetings to review and deliberate, council approved the final budget at the November 15th Regular Council Meeting. It includes four separate budgets: the operating budget, the utility operating budget, the utility capital budget, and the capital budget.
One of the most notable items included in the 2023 budget is $10 million being spent for architectural and construction work for the Multiplex project.
Mayor Adam Lordon said “This is a once in a generation facility, well overdue and we look forward to rolling up our sleeves in 2023. This item will surely and rightfully take up much of our agenda in 2023.”
