Census Data Shows Decrease in Christianity in N.B.

According to newly-released census data, there are 104,000 New Brunswickers that identify as Christian compared to a decade ago.
The 2021 Census data showed 512,645 Christians in the province, including 305,520 Catholics, 48,540 Baptists, 35,825 Anglicans, 35,205 United, and 14,140 Pentecostal church-goers.
In 2011, there were 619,910 Christians in New Brunswick, 104,265 more than in 2021.
There were 366,115 Catholics, 70,990 Baptists, 51,365 Anglicans, 54,270 United, and 18,435 Pentecostals a decade ago.
The number of New Brunswickers that said they had no religious affiliation in 2021 was 225,125, an increase of over 113,000 from 2011.
While the number of Christians declined, other religions saw their followers increase in the province. There are more Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, and Buddists now compared to 10 years ago.
