Miramichi City Council unanimously passed the first reading for a potential rezoning of 663 Newcastle Boulevard, which would allow for the vacant lot to be home to a four unit housing complex.

663 Newcastle Boulevard is located just southeast of Beaverbrook Road, near Fournier Lane and Elmwood Lane.

The proposed complex would consist of four units, each with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Each unit would also contain a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry area, pantry, storage closets, and a balcony.

A public hearing for the rezoning will be taking place on September 28th at 6 PM at Miramichi City Hall. Any written objections to the project must be submitted before that date for consideration at the hearing.

City Council is tentatively scheduled to vote on the rezoning on October 5th.
