Miramichi-Grand Lake MP Jake Stewart has been named to Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre’s leadership team.

Stewart supported Poilievre during the leadership election, and will serve as caucus committee coordinator.

The nine-person leadership team includes former leader Andrew Scheer who will serve as opposition house leader, and Tim Uppal and Melissa Lantsman who will serve as deputy leaders.

Stewart tweeted about the appointment, saying “It is an honour to be on the Pierre Poilievre Leadership Team. We are calling on the government to commit to not raising taxes or creating new ones.”
