City council has unanimously approved a new policy that will mandate vaccination against COVID-19 for all city councillors and municipal staff.

Anyone who proves a medical exemption with supporting documents, or objects to getting vaccinated, must wear a face covering and follow all guidelines from Public Health.

City manager Mike Noel said while there is currently no regular testing requirements for unvaccinated councillors or staff, that could change in the future.

According to the new policy, anyone who does not follow the new rules will be subject to disciplinary measures up to and including dismissal.
