Over 500 Long-Term Care Workers Missing the Deadline to get Vaccinated

554 long-term care workers in New Brunswick are set to be laid off in November, for not being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The deadline for these workers to be fully vaccinated is November 19th, meaning the last day for long-term care workers to receive their first dose was on Friday.
There are 279 nursing home workers and 275 special care home staff that will not be able to work on November 19th until they show proof of full vaccination.
Sharon Teare, president of the New Brunswick Council of Nursing Home Unions, is requesting that the deadline be extended, because according to her, the sector can't afford to lose any workers at this time.
