Réjean Savoie, a former Progressive Conservative MLA, has secured the PC nomination for the riding of Miramichi Bay-Neguac in the upcoming June 20 byelection.

Savoie represented the former Miramichi Bay riding from 1999 to 2003, and most recently worked as a car salesman for Towne Chrysler. He also has experience in the forestry industry, and has sat on a medical clinic board in Neguac, as well as the board for the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home.

Shawn Wood, the principal of Miramichi Valley High School, will be representing the Liberals in the election, and Richard Sutherland, a federal civil servant who has community volunteering experience, is running as an independent.
