According to a new survey from Narrative Research, the majority of Canadians support abortion in Canada.

Respondents were asked: Given the current discussions in the US about the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade, to what extent do you support or oppose a person’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion in Canada?

77% of respondents completely or mostly support abortion. 6% mostly opposed, another 6% completely opposed, and 11% preferred not to answer.

Support for abortion is highest among Canadians who typically support the NDP, closely followed by those who typically support the Liberal Party. Among those individuals, close to nine in ten were completely or mostly in support of abortion access in Canada. Three quarters of respondents who typically support the Conservative Party said they either completely or mostly support abortion.
