According to the province's updated mandatory emergency order, kids who turn 12 have 60 days to get vaccinated, before they fall under the proof of vaccine requirements.

The province has expanded eligibility for vaccination to 11 year olds who are turning 12 by the end of 2021. Because of this, Health Minister Dorothy Shephard believes there is plenty of time for children who turn 12 to get vaccinated before they start being turned away at certain events and businesses.

Last week, Pfizer submitted preliminary date from their trial of their COVID-19 vaccine on 5-11 year olds to Health Canada. According to the agency, a formal filing of the submission for authorization for those 5-11 is expected in mid-October.
