The provincial and federal governments have announced funding to support an accessible recreation and fitness centre in the heart of Doaktown.

A combined $453,618 will allow the village to adapt and renovate a vacant building to create the centre.

The provincial government is investing $226,809 through the Regional Development Corporation and the federal government is contributing $226,809 through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
