According to the latest numbers from the provincial government, student absenteeism continued its year-over-year increase in May.

Compared to May 2021, student absenteeism rose in every school district in the province, and among students in both K-8 and 9-12 classes.

There were also thousands of unfilled educational staff absences. Francophone South had the most staff absences, averaging about 380 per week.
