Transportation Minister Jill Green says the upgrades on the Centennial Bridge in Miramichi are expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

She said this year's work will focus on pier work, replacing bearings, and moving utilities under the bridge, meaning there will only be some single lane closures this year. In 2023, 2024, and 2025, there will be some full closures required to complete deck work and replace the sidewalk.

Since 2012, the Centennial Bridge has been undergoing an upgrade worth approximately $100-million. This cost is being shared by the provincial and federal governments.
